Position: Director, Clean Transportation Solutions

CALSTART is seeking a dynamic individual to lead its Clean Transportation Solutions Group (CTSG). This person will lead CALSTART's team that works with ports, fleets, and developers to improve the environmental performance of their transportation operations. The CTSG is one of CALSTART's fastest growing practice areas. While the organization already has a solid book of business in this area, we anticipate great potential to help the clean transportation industry grow even more by providing objective, fuel and technology neutral, cost-effective solutions.



CALSTART requires the following essential skills and experience for its CTSG Director:

• Strong combination of analytical and managerial capabilities;

• Be able to ensure that high quality economic and environmental analysis is done for our clients, within budget and on time;

• Has a proven track record of cultivating, supervising and motivating a staff of project managers and associates;

• Be able to manage technical and financial modeling projects both for clients and internally; and

• Be well-versed in clean transportation technology, economics, and regulations.



CALSTART seeks a person who is passionate about its mission, while being able to be analytical and objective in the advice s/he provides to clients. The person should feel comfortable in a creative, start-up environment. The candidate should have a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. The candidate should also be driven to work hard and be insistent on providing good value to our stakeholders and customers. Senior management will be looking for this person to provide strategic direction and oversee business development for the CTSG. An advanced technical or business degree would be highly valued.



CALSTART offers a strong compensation package. In addition to a competitive salary, CALSTART offers its employees a full HMO health plan (with no monthly employee contribution) including dental and vision care. The compensation plan also includes a retirement plan equivalent to 8 percent of the employee's annual salary. CALSTART also allows for flexible work hours, encourages tele-commuting, and provides funding for transit. It is expected that this person will work out of CALSTART's Pasadena office.
